Named after a unassuming yet exceptionally delicious apple, Rubinette Produce is proud to be the best source for local and specialty produce in Portland, Oregon. We carry the best fruits and vegetables we can find, from seasonal rarities to standard favorites.
We delight in finding the best farm direct produce. By working with local growers and staying close to the pulse of the city’s vibrant dining scene, Rubinette brings the farmer’s market indoors and features vegetables and fruits found on Portland’s best menus.

We follow the seasons, look for unique varietals and take small lots of new, unusual and flavor-forward produce from local farms - and beyond. You will always find something new to discover, but you won't always find the same thing twice. Working with small, dedicated farmers means that we get the best, but we only get it until it's gone.
What to Eat Now: Spring
Strawberry season has begun and we are thrilled to welcome in a steady stream of varieties from our trusted grower partners. Right now we’re loving Cabrillo, Sweet Charlie and Albion varieties. Local asparagus is also on in abundance. If you love green asparagus, you must try purple- more mild and sweeter in flavor. Foraged mushrooms, including Morels and Porcini, are fantastic additions to your plate, as are foraged Fiddleheads Ferns. And, local head lettuce including Little Gem and Butter lettuce is finally here!
Ahhh spring!

You don’t have to look far outside of Portland to find some of the country’s most outstanding growers. At Rubinette, we seek out conscientious, dedicated and innovative farmers that - like us! - are small, nimble and always looking for that next great variety.
Representing only a fraction of the farms we work with through out the year, the four farms below feature some of the outstanding people and business models that make the landscape of our local, small-scale agriculture community so vibrant: A succession story, a women owned farm, an early organic adopter, and a cooperative model.
Eloisa Organic Farm
After 25 years of working the land at Spring Hill Organic Farm, Virginia Herrera and Zenon Ramirez made their dream come true and became owners of part of the historic organic farm in Albany, Oregon. Originally from the village of Asuncion Atoyaquillo, Oaxaca, Virginia and Zenon have become well-loved in the region.
Fiddlehead Farm
Fiddlehead Farm is a women owned and operated farm, growing over 200 varieties of vegetables in Corbett, OR. Led by farmers Tanye and Katie, Fiddlehead Farm delivers vibrant chards and practically perfect greens every time, making their orders one of our favorite times of the week!
Gathering Together Farm
At Rubinette we often say that the ground at Gathering Together Farm must be sprinkled with fairy dust, because everything they grow is delicious! This Philomath farm, founded in 1987, grows over 50 different types of vegetables of over 300 different varieties, and we'll take everything we can get our hands on!
Our Table Cooperative
Our Table Cooperative is a little bit of everything: a farm, a gathering place, a kitchen and a watershed restoration site. Founder Narendra Varma has created a space that nourishes the body and the earth. We count on Our Table to bring us delicious blueberries, unique dressings, and a range of sustainable vegetables.

Josh Alsberg, owner, founder and fruit-obsessive is a 15-year veteran of Portland produce. Alsberg started at the bottom of the fruit pile as a clerk at one of New Seasons Market’s first locations. He then spent 5 years at the helm of Food Front Co-Operative Grocery’s produce department, building close and lasting relationships with small farmers across Oregon and along the west coast. Now, via Rubinette Produce Market, Josh shares what he loves and loves what he does.
